Last month, we learned that the DC TV universe – colloquially known as the Arrowverse – would be adding another hero to its already packed roster as Batwoman was set to join the CW network across the pond. Now we know that Ruby Rose will be the person behind the mask.

The character, as drawn from the comics is Kate Kane, a woman with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind in the streets of Gotham. She'll also mark the first LGBTQ title hero in a live-action show, fighting crime as an out lesbian. The series, though, would follow her growth to become the hero that she ends up being.

Caroline Dries is in place to write and produce any potential show, with Arrowverse overlords Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter (plus DC veteran Geoff Johns) trying the character out first in a crossover with the various other small screen heroes. If Batwoman's solo show is picked up, it'll premiere next year.

Rose will next be seen facing off against a giant shark in The Meg, headed our way on Friday.
