Back in May, we learned that Russell Crowe was on board to star in a new thriller called Poker Face, with Gary Fleder directing. It's all change behind the camera as Crowe will now take over calling the shots while also still starring.

The film – originally to be set in Miami but now moving to Sydney Australia and under strict COVID safety guidelines – will find Crowe playing a tech billionaire who is caught up in a high stakes gamble. Stephen M. Coates' script finds Crowe's Jake inviting childhood friends to his mansion for a poker game. But it's much more than that: given his mixed relationship with most of the players, the master strategist has planned an elaborate scheme to enact justice on them. And what he hasn't accounted for is a dangerous home invader showing up at his mansion...

Liam Hemsworth, Elsa Pataky and RZA are all in the cast for the film, which has started production around Sydney and at the city's Fox Studios. As for Crowe, he'll next show up in Thor: Love And Thunder, due out next May.
