Margot Robbie has been attached to Warner Bros.'Barbiemovie for a couple of years now, and it looks like she's finally found her Ken. Thanks to the doll-based film's taking longer to develop than originally thought, a space has opened up in Ryan Gosling's schedule for him to take the role.

Though it is essentially based on one of the most famous toy brands out there, Barbie promises to be something quite different, since it was co-written by Greta Gerwig (who will direct) and Noah Baumbach. No details have been released, but we can hardly imagine the filmmakers behind Little Women and Marriage Story making a cheap cash-in film.

Gosling is locking in a deal to co-star, and if it all works out, that should mean the movie kicks off shooting early next year. The actor most recently shot The Gray Man opposite Chris Evans, and that should arrive via Netflix in 2022.
