Last year's Talk To Me was a big breakout for sibling directorial duo Danny and Michael Philippou, who graduated from creative, crazed YouTube work to a horror hit for A24 ($92 million from a $4.5 million budget). Now the company is looking to stay in business with them, and Sally Hawkins is also attached to star in their latest effort Bring Her Back.
While Deadline reports that it's an original horror movie, the other details are remaining under wraps so far. There's not even mention of who wrote the script (though Danny Philipou was among those involved in Talk To Me's writing team), and we know that the film's producing duo Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton are back for the new one.
The Philipou duo will have the cameras rolling this summer, meaning that it has leapt ahead of a potential Talk To Me sequel and the documentary about their exploration of international underground death match wrestling.
Given how effective Talk To Me was at causing chills down the spine with its story of teens dabbling with a mysterious ceramic hand that can contact the dead, we're already anticipating what they do next – and Hawkins is the acting cherry on top of that cake.
