Sam Worthington Gets Damaged

It's a while since we've had an update on The Last Days of American Crime. But if nothing else, development on the project has marked the start of a beautiful friendship between Sam Worthington and Radical Comics: a friendship leading to **Damaged.

Damaged is a comic book series co-created by Michael and John Schwarz, who, not coincidentally, are Worthington's partners in his newly formed production company Full Clip. The three have signed a deal with Radical to "develop intellectual property" for the publisher: comics specifically created with movie adaptations in mind. "As a lifelong fan of comics, I'm excited to have the chance to create material which I can then personally bring to life on screen," says Worthington.

Interesting. It's like a little indie Marvel empire (as well as** Last Days**, Radical are also behind Legends: The Enchanted), except that some of the comics don't exist yet. There are few details on Damaged so far apart from the press-release info that the story involves two brothers nearing retirement, one a cop and one a vigilante, training their respective replacements in a violently changing world. Stray Bullets' Eisner Award-winning David Lapham is writing the thing from the Schwarz Brothers' concept. More details are promised for Comic Con.
