Losing no time, topical drama She Said, which chronicles the work to report on film producer Harvey Weinstein's monstrous behaviour, is now shooting i n New York. But that isn't stopping the movie from announcing fresh casting, as Samantha Morton has joined the ensemble.
Universal bought the rights to New York Times bestseller She Said: Breaking The Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite A Movement, which follows journalists Negan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, who broke the story in 2017, and helped see Weinstein prosecuted and jailed, while also aiding in sparking the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. Rebecca Lenkiewicz wrote the script, with Maria Schrader directing.
Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan have scored the lead roles of Twohey and Kantor, while Patricia Clarkson portrays the Times' investigations department editor and Andre Braugher is the paper’s executive editor Dean Baquet. Morton's landed the role of Zelda Perkins, a former assistant to Weinstein who endured his abuse and later found herself bound by constricting NDAs.
