Things got a little crazy in the Indiana town of Hawkins in November 1983. Will Byers went missing, his mother (Winona Ryder) got very attached to a particular set of Christmas lights, everyone forgot about Barb (RIP, Barb), and a Demogorgon caused a fair amount of chaos.

Though we can’t yet report on what seasonal goods will catch Ms Byers’ eye this time around, it’s safe to assume that things are about to get even crazier.

Here’s the brand new poster for Season 2, which makes this point very clear:

Here’s the official synopsis:

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

Sounds nasty.

Stranger Things 2 will launch globally on Netflix on 27 October. Until then, it’s time to ponder over what that gargantuan red (and blue?) tentacled beastie is.
