Captain America's shield

With The Falcon And The Winter Soldier finishing up its initial run on Disney+, it appears that Marvel is looking to stay in business with the show's head writer and executive producer Malcolm Spellman. He's now developing a fourth Captain America film for the studio. Spoilers ahead for anyone who has yet to see Episode 6.

Spellman will work alongside Falcon staff writer Dalan Musson, who was responsible for Truth, the fifth and much-praised episode of the series. While no official casting has been revealed, the show has naturally pointed to the concept of Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) continuing to wield the shield following his successful first attempt at the conclusion of the series.

With Chris Evans having stepped away from the MCU following Avengers: Endgame, we wouldn't expect to see Steve Rogers appear in the film, though a cameo can't be ruled out (unless Steve really is living on a base on the moon).

No director has been hired at this stage, but you've got to figure they'll consider Kari Skogland, who directed all episodes of the series. Though Falcon's run was sometimes a bumpy one, it was worth the trip by the end.
