As the pandemic continues, we've been hearing of a few filmmakers who rustled up the resources to keep shooting during lockdown, using all manner of safety procedures. You can add The Souvenir's Joanna Hogg to the list, who reunited with the star of that film (and its upcoming sequel), Tilda Swinton for ghost story The Eternal Daughter.

Filmed in secret in Wales last year, the drama charts the story of a middle-aged daughter and her elderly mother who must confront long-buried secrets when they return to their former family home, a once-grand manor that has become a nearly vacant hotel brimming with mystery.

With Joseph Mydell, Carly Davies and Alfie Sankey-Green also in the cast, the film comes from A24 and a producer list that includes the Normal People/The Favourite teams Element Pictures and JWH Films, BBC Films and Martin Scorsese, who returns as executive producer after shepherding The Souvenir.

The Eternal Daughter is in post-production now, and with luck will be out later this year.
