Can an olive branch move a Rock? That's what Vin Diesel is aiming to find out after hitting Instagram to offer an open invite to Dwayne Johnson to return as Luke Hobbs for the 10th Fast& Furious movie.

Diesel and Johnson famously had a falling out over on-set attitudes and Johnson has not appeared in a Fast film since the eighth, preferring instead to focus on his Hobbs And Shaw spin-off franchise (he's been talking up a sequel recently). The bad blood has appeared to stay simmering despite attempts by both to downplay it, and this latest missive is Diesel's biggest attempt yet to reach out. Tough we're not certain whether dropping Paul Walker's name ("Pablo" is how Diesel refers to his late friend and co-star) and asking Johnson to "fulfill your destiny" is the right way to go about it.

It remains to be seen whether Johnson responds or agrees to come back – he does have a packed schedule, after all. Maybe he'll drop in for a cameo if he feels like it... Or show up via Zoom?

With Justin Lin back as director, the 10th Fast movie – set to be the first part of two-film wrap-up for the franchise, is scheduled to land on 7 April, 2023.
