Ed Zwick – currently shooting Leonardo DiCaprio African drama The Blood Diamond, is getting back to the romantic comedy style that launched his career.

He’s sold a comedy pitch entitled The Nice Guy, co-written with Sheldon Turner, to Universal. The script is centred on a newly divorced doctor who is frustrated by women considering him simply as marriage material. There's no word yet on whether Zwick will also direct.

Before he moved on to direct big, serious epics such as Diamond The Last Samurai and Glory, Zwick was best known for creating classic ‘80s American TV comedy drama Thirtysomething.
