First announced at last year's D23 event, construction work on Disney's new Star Wars-themed lands is well under way. The company's Parks blog has debuted a new concept art image. Take a look above, or head here for a larger version of how the attraction might look.

The Disneyland version will be 14 acres in size and the largest ever single-theme expansion in the park's history. Which we suppose makes sense given how pivotal Star Wars has become to Disney.

"Nestled between towering spires of rock, this thriving port contains a seemingly familiar architecture of markets, landing zones and buildings," runs the description on the blog. "Look closely and you may find hints of some of the thrilling experiences that are coming – like the Millennium Falcon peeking out of one of the cargo bays, marking the location where guests will get the opportunity to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. The poor old Falcon... never can catch a break when it comes to descriptions. But she's got it where it counts.

Aliens and droids will mingle with visitors and we're promised immersive lands themed around the past, present and future of that galaxy far, far away. As for when it'll be officially open? That's still to be announced, but it's already looking somewhat nifty.

In related Star Wars news, the first stand-alone, Rogue One, will be with us on December 16 and is expected to put a new trailer online this coming Friday after it is unleashed at the Star Wars Celebration event in London.
