After taking on a more dramatic role last year in Paul Schrader’s The Card Counter, Tiffany Haddish is moving back towards the comedic form that she’s established in films such as Girl’s Trip and Like A Boss with new Apple TV+ show The Afterparty. In the series, a murder occurs at the afterparty for a high school reunion, and Haddish’s Detective Danner must interview each suspect to get their version of events – all of which are delivered via a different genre, including Sam Richardson’s romantic comedy, Ben Schwartz’s musical and Ike Barinholtz’s action thriller.

She stopped by the Pilot TV podcast this week to talk about working with Chris Miller, her favourite TV detectives and British comedies, and the wildest Hollywood houses she’s listed. Have a listen below.
