We've known for some time now that 2024 is something of a recalibration year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe after a rough past year for the blockbuster franchise. But with Wolverine & Deadpool just weeks away and X-Men '97 keeping the Marvel flag flying high on Disney+ right now, plans for Kevin Feige and co's big comeback are already well underway. And, during an announcement-laden Disney Upfront presentation yesterday, we got some big release updates for the studio's upcoming slate of Disney+ series.
Firstly, the House of Mouse — not Harkness — confirmed that they've been leading fans a merry dance with the titling of their upcoming WandaVision spin-off series, centred around everyone's favourite badass (and just plain bad) witch. It's not Agatha: House Of Harkness, The Coven Of Chaos, The Darkhold Diaries, or in fact The Lying Witch With Great Wardrobe. Turns out it was Agatha All Along, well, all along — cheeky devils! And the Kathryn Hahn-led series – which not only co-stars Patti LuPone, Aubrey Plaza, and Heartstopper's Joe Locke, but also features original songs from Frozen duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez – will make its two-episode premiere on Disney+ on 18 September.
Elsewhere, we also learned that Daredevil: Born Again, which has just wrapped production, is headed for a March 2025 release on the streamer. After a dramatic creative overhaul late last year, the series — which marks Charlie Cox's full return as The Man Without Fear after brief appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk and Echo — is finally starting to take shape. Not only is Cox back for the R-rated reboot of Marvel's hit Netflix series, but also Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, Jon Bernthal's Punisher, and Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson's Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. And what's more, they come with a sweet new logo to boot. Check it out below:
And last but certainly not least, we finally have an update on Ironheart, which will see Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams return as the titular supe to take on Anthony Ramos' villainous The Hood. The pair took to the stage at Upfront to present a first-look trailer for the show to ad buyers. Sadly that trailer is yet to be released online, but with it came the announcement that Ironheart is expected to take off sometime in 2025.
