Netflix’s The Haunting Of Hill House series, directed entirely by horror maestro Mike Flanagan, was a total spooky treat – an eerie, time-twisting and deeply emotional ghost story that offered frights and feels in equal measure. Now the streaming service is gearing up for more ghostly goings on in The Haunting Of Bly Manor, an adaptation of Henry James’ classic horror story The Turn Of The Screw, once again executive produced (but this time not directed in full) by Flanagan, and featuring much of the Hill House cast in new roles. The series is expected to hit the streaming service in the coming months (around Halloween would make sense), and as the first pics and teasers emerge, Netflix has a dare for you: will you call the number on this promo image?

The pic is an advert for a ‘Live-In Nanny’ at the Bly Manor residence in the English Countryside – with a number to call to schedule an interview. Trust us: you don’t want the job. But for those who do call the line, some brave fool uploaded footage of the voicemail message on the other end.

The series updates the original 1890s story to the 1980s, starring Victoria Pedretti (aka Nell from Hill House) in the lead role, joined by Henry Thomas, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Kate Siegel from last season. While Flanagan has only written and directed the first episode of Bly Manor, he’s now hard at work shooting all seven episodes of another upcoming Netflix horror series, his long-mooted show Midnight Mass. He might just be the busiest man in the boo-isiness.
