Judging by the extended clip currently showing on Yahoo Movies, DreamWorks’ latest cartoon adventure, Kung Fu Panda, is shaping up to be a bit of a corker.
The tale of a lazy bamboo-eating layabout who must learn kung fu in order to fulfil his unlikely destiny as the Chosen One, it’s a family friendly affair that takes ample inspiration from some of the Far East’s most famous chop-socky flicks.
In this inventive clip, which apes Jackie Chan’s classic Drunken Master, Po the panda (voiced by Jack Black) has seemingly been modelled on the hefty but none more swift martial arts star Sammo Hung, while his sensei Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) has all the moves of an even smaller Yoda.
