You may have already caught the first trailer for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut, **Don Jon, which outlined the things that the titular Jersey boy likes: keeping in shape, his family, his car, his hair and romancing women, none of whom seem to match up to his addiction to online porn. This new trailer outlines his thoughts on romantic comedies and how they relate to real life.
In short, Jon’s not a fan, which is a bit of a problem when he meets and actually fall for Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson), a bright, talkative fellow New Jerseyite who loves mushy romantic movies and encourages him to take her to see them.
Trouble naturally arises when Barbara catches him indulging his web-based passion, which leads to a break up and Jon’s mum (Glenne Headly) bemoaning that he may never give her grandchildren.
Tony Danza, Julianne Moore, Lindsey Broad and Brie Larson are also in the cast for the film. Don Jon is released here on November 15.
