Expendables-shmendables. The most truly guilty-pleasure old-school action-fest of 2010 was Universal Soldier: Regeneration, despite the short-changing screen-times of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. Building on that reboot's success, however, here comes Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning (Part 4 if you're counting, not including the Jeff Wincott ones), and Magnet Releasing have just exploded a poster online.

Again, possibly slightly disingenuously but also understandably, the poster talks up JCVD and Dolph, whereas the synopsis seems to suggest that this is Scott Adkins' movie (not in itself a bad thing). JC isn't looking entirely impressed to be in this poster, we're saying, despite being given a big chopper to play with.
That synopsis we mentioned sees John (Adkins) waking up from a coma to find that his family has been killed in a home invasion, apparently led by franchise hero Luc Deveraux (Van Damme). Cue a vow for revenge, which is complicated when he finds new super-UniSol Andre "Pitbull" Arlovski (the MMA fighter who got the bulk of the screen-time in the last film) on his tail.
Then there's Dolph's Andrew Scott, whose constant returns seem to be becoming a running joke. Spoilers follow if you're new here, but having been fed through a threshing machine in the first film and messily shotgunned in the head in the third, he really does have a habit of coming back looking jolly well. This time, he's apparently leading a "rouge" army, but we think that's probably supposed to be "rogue", unless they've been taking some fashion tips from Grayson Perry.
Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning, directed as was the last one by John Hyams, gets a theatrical release in the States on November 30. Here we'd guess it'll go straight to DVD, but there's no word so far of when.
